Many countries are celebrating these days the end of World War II... This sad period of human history changed forever the lives of many families across the world, including mine.
70 years after this war, it is opportune to say that we must learn from the past!
A few days ago, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk recorded a video message for Victory Day. Many opinion leaders from around the world have been invited to participate to this social campaign "To remember". Clips are broadcasted on several Ukrainian TV channels.
Here, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk raises the issue of civilian casualties in Ukraine: "
One in five Ukrainians died during World War II. All those who fought against Nazism deserve remembrance and all our respect. No matter under what flag they went to their mortal combat!"
The video ends with a red poppy - the symbol of the memory of victims of war and civil conflict - and the words "To be remembered."
